I am inspired by two seemingly contradictory and yet complementary themes: organic forms such as pebbles, small stones, and water drops, and structures from classic architecture. These influences help me create shapes that are simple yet solid, shapes that can be enriched with set stones or an altered finish -- strong organic shapes that in turn inspire me during the finishing process.
Each piece also reflects my personal way of experiencing the world. I think physical contact is important -- both with people and with things -- so my pieces ask to be touched
I also believe that my pieces should contain surprises - Stones to add a sense of whimsy and elegance - Reversibility to reflect our very changeable human personalities - Surprises that reflect how life itself usually contains some unexpected twists.
As an independent jewellery artist, I am constantly expanding my skills and building on my expertise as I design and hand craft one-of-a-kind platinum, gold and silver pieces. I hope that my surroundings and the raw materials with which I work will continue to provide me with boundless sources of inspiration |
